What a busy few weeks we have had so far this term.
We are working hard in Maths using concrete resources such as counters and pictorial resources such as arrays and factor bugs to help us work out multiples, factors, prime and composite numbers.
In English, we have started our sentence stacking for our new unit based all around The Snowman. The children have blown us away with their creative sentences which include amazing Year 5 SPAG elements.
In Science, we are continuing to study forces, first looking at friction through our shoe investigation and then air resistance using spinners. This physics big idea also links nicely to our topic in DT where we are focusing on pulleys!
In PE, we are enjoying our fitness topic with Mr D and Mrs Dixson and we are getting very competitive in our netball unit with Miss Webb and Mrs Dallimore.
As well as all of that, this week we were also lucky to have visitors from Southside who led a ‘Healthy Relationships’ workshop with us. We particularly enjoyed the toothpaste activity which reminds us that “things we put out, we can’t get back” when discussing posting information on the world wide web/social media platforms etc.
Please take a look below at the wonderful things we have been doing.
