Wow, what a week we’ve had! We’ve been busy in the mornings doing brilliantly in our end-of-year assessments, then in the afternoons, we’ve been creating artwork for our Take One Picture project.  Take One Picture is a project which was created by the National Gallery, in which they choose an artwork from their collection and then schools across the country can do a project inspired by that artwork.  This year’s artwork is the painting, A Regatta on the Grand Canal by Canaletto.  Children looked at sections of the painting and asked questions about what might be happening, before we looked at the whole painting.  We decided to zoom in on the crowds in the painting and create a crowd collage! We tried paper marbling for the first time, which we loved, then we drew our silhouettes and cut them out of the marbled paper carefully.  We also used oil pastels to create paper with different textures, before creating silhouettes out of that too.  We’re very proud of our finished collage!

Then of course, we finished our CARE week with our fantastic Sports Day!  We all had a great morning participating in all the different events, and we enjoyed our ice creams, thanks to the PSA!
