This week, our Year 3 chefs challenged themselves to use new skills in making tasty cheese twists and a creamy tomato dip! The children prepared their workspaces with flour and laid out their pastry sheet, separated their yolk and egg white and brushed their pastry with yolk before adding their cheese and seasoning and twisting into shape.
While the twists were baking, the children chopped tomatoes using a safe bridge hold and added them to the blender with garlic, spices and cream cheese to create a vibrant and tasty dip!
We had spent time at the beginning of cooking club talking about turning cooking into a career and how professional chefs keep their kitchens safe and efficient. The children had some great ideas and showed superb aspiration with their chef-like behaviour and techniques!
