This week in Year 2, we’ve been exploring mechanisms in DT and thinking about the design criteria for our Moving Monsters. We all tried making a simple lever mechanism using strips of card and split pins, which were very successful! In Science, we’ve been learning about how pollution in the air affects all living things. We have set up an experiment with two plants to show the effect of pollution on them. Both plants are on the windowsill and will be watered regularly, but one is in a plastic bag and will have hairspray sprayed in frequently. We will watch how the plants react over the next 2 weeks! In Computing, we’ve been having great fun with the Beebots, programming them to follow a certain algorithm.
