Year 2 had a fantastic time at Forest School this week, embracing the outdoors in all kinds of weather!
The first class began with a very windy start, which made lighting our fire tricky and meant it didn’t get going as well as we’d hoped. After a class vote, the children decided to abandon bananas and opt for s’mores instead—and everyone was very happy with this choice! Despite the challenging conditions, the children showed great teamwork and resilience and thoroughly enjoyed their treat.
The second class were much luckier with the weather. With calmer conditions, they were all able to bake a banana filled with melted chocolate on the fire. We were incredibly proud of every single child for being willing to give this a try, even if it was something new for them.
When they weren’t cooking, the children were busy making dens, playing in the mud kitchen, painting with chalks, and joyfully jumping in muddy puddles.
Well done, Year 2—we’re so proud of you all!
