In Silver and Gold class, all children have a Personalised Learning Intention Map (or PLIM!) with each child working on individual social, emotional, physical and cognitive targets. In the afternoons, we work on this skills but in a fun way and often in a small group. This week, in Silver class, children worked on communication skills of listening to instructions where children worked in pairs to see if they could produce identical drawings by listening to their partner’s instructions of what to draw! In Gold class, we had great fun practising working as a team and building resilience by playing a cup stacking game – we had to stack cups with each person controlling a string to move an elastic band to pick up and stack the cups. It was a fun, if somewhat frustrating exercise but we got there in the end! We also played an amusing game of choosing different children to sit next to a child with an empty chair next to them.
