It’s been another busy and exciting week in Year 4, full of discovery, creativity, and exploration!

In English, we’ve been diving into the icy world of Scott of the Antarctic. The children have been sentence stacking a diary entry inspired by his incredible journey, skilfully using fronted adverbials, conjunctions, and expanded noun phrases to bring their writing to life. The results have been fantastic – full of vivid description and emotion!

In Maths, we’ve been sharpening our number sense by rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100, and 1000. The children have really impressed us with their logical thinking and growing confidence.

In Science, we became mini-experimenters! We investigated how temperature affects the melting of solids, exploring how hot water needs to be to change certain materials from solid to liquid. It was a hands-on lesson that sparked lots of curiosity and great discussion.

Finally, in Geography, our learning took us back to Antarctica, where we explored its incredible physical features – from towering glaciers and ice shelves to mountain ranges and vast deserts of snow.

Well done Year 4!
