In D&T this term, we are learning about structures, and thinking about a new design for a chair for Baby Bear. This links nicely to our Science learning this term about materials, as we have been investigating properties of materials. This week, we had great fun working in groups to investigate how to make a stable structure for a teddy bear to sit on. The children had to use their teamwork skills to decide how best to use paper cylinders to make a chair prototype. They displayed super problem-solving skills, and some children decided to add a back to their chair and even armrests! We then tested their designs to see which one Jigsaw Jo would feel comfiest on!
