Year 2 have had a fantastic day at SS Great Britain, learning all about the life and work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the Victorian engineer we are learning about this term. We took part in a workshop where we worked in teams to find out how to make a ship’s propeller turn; we had a guided tour of the ship where one of the highlights was hearing the ‘talking toilet’; and we ended our visit with a walk underneath the ship in the dry dock. We are extremely impressed with how brilliantly all the children behaved, showing great curiosity and respect, and they were fantastic representatives for our school!
