Happy New Year!  It’s been a busy start to 2026 in Year 2, with starting lots of new, exciting topics.  In Maths, we’re learning about the properties of 2D shapes, which started with finding examples of different 2D shapes in our classroom.  In English and Guided Reading, we’re exploring the story of George and the Dragon, but a different take on the traditional tale where George is actually a tiny mouse!  In Geography, we’re becoming Street Detectives and learning how to use a map, so we enjoyed using atlases this week to find cities in England, and compare their location using compass points.  In Science, we’re learning more about animals and their diet, and we’ve compared how much water different animals drink.
