Classrooms across the school were transformed into 1940s-style street parties as we enjoyed commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day this afternoon. Year 6 enjoyed the sounds of popular 1940s music like Glenn Miller and Vera Lynn, watched videos to learn more about how life changed in Britain during the Blitz and listened to some personal stories of our great and great-great grandparents’ experiences of the war. It was a memorable afternoon of community and celebration, topped off by being able to enjoy the delicious traditional dishes that children and families had prepared and provided. God Save the King!
