As part of our wider learning, we explore the lives of 27 inspirational people from around the world and throughout history. They represent a wide range of fields including science, technology, art, literature, politics, music, sport and entertainment.

Through their stories, we encourage our children to be curious, ambitious, resilient and empathetic. These individuals come from our local, national and global communities, and their experiences help our pupils see what is possible when determination and creativity come together.

We have also carefully considered how these people link to the protected characteristics outlined in the Equality Act. By highlighting their diverse backgrounds, challenges and achievements, we aim to promote understanding, respect and inclusion. In doing so, we not only celebrate their contributions to society but also help our children recognise the importance of equality and fairness in their own lives.
