Our Eco Team visited our local charity shop to learn more about how clothes are reused and recycled. During the visit, we discovered that people donate clothes to the shop, where volunteers carefully sort them before placing the best items out on the shop floor for customers to buy. The money raised from these sales helps support a wide range of important projects both in our local community and in countries around the world. We also learned that clothes which are not sold in the shop are not simply thrown away; instead, they are either recycled into new materials or sent to other countries where they can still be used. This helps reduce waste and support people in need. We really enjoyed learning about the important work the charity shop does and are excited to develop more projects with them over the next few terms.
