What a wonderful time we had at the woods today!

After a lovely walk to the clearing, we began with a chat about our boundaries to keep everyone safe. Then we jumped into some fun with a few rounds of “1, 2, 3, Where Are You?”a great way to practice listening and teamwork. Next, we slowed things down for a peaceful solo activity: each child found their own quiet spot to sit and draw what they could hear in the forest. From wrens to song thrushes, there was a beautiful mix of birdsong all around us! Later, the class worked in small groups to build their own dens. The creativity and teamwork on display were amazing. We finished the day with some well-earned free play – climbing trees, relaxing in the hammock, and even burying our teacher in leaves (don’t worry, they survived!).

Well done, Year 6! You were adventurous, respectful, and full of enthusiasm throughout.
