This week, we have had CARE week across the school, focusing on our CARE value of Empathy and celebrating differences, which has incorporated Remembrance Day, anti-bullying week and World Kindness Day!  We started by grouping the children into mixed year group classes on Monday, and working together to do some activities around identifying emotions and showing kindness.  It was lovely to watch the older children support the younger children with their learning.  On Tuesday, we thought about how we show emotions, and created our super emotion masks.  On Wednesday, we did some work around anti-bullying, identifying what bullying is, and how to be an ‘upstander’ rather than a ‘bystander’.  The children drew around their hands and wrote suggestions for what they will do to be an ‘upstander’.  On Thursday, the children thought about how emotions are often associated with colours, and they coloured in mandalas according to the different emotions they were feeling.  Today, we focused on one of our Citizenship and Character awards tasks, and learnt about money – how we earn it and how we spend it.  The children had great fun acting out different jobs!
