In Year 3, the children have been sequencing and orally retelling fairy tales. They have been learning how to put events in the right order, use expression in their voices, and perform their stories with confidence. This has helped them to understand how stories are built and to enjoy bringing characters and adventures to life.
We have been studying the different functions of Egyptian pottery, exploring how the pots were used for storing, carrying, serving food and drink as well religious and funeral practices. The children have been sketching pottery forms from still life, looking closely at the shapes and details. This has helped them to understand both the practical uses and the artistic qualities of Ancient Egyptian pottery.
