Welcome back! It’s been a very busy first week of Term 4!

In English, we’ve started exploring the rhyming book, Ten Little Pirates.  We’ve had lots of fun practising reading the book out loud, freeze-framing in character as the pirates and exploring onomatopoeia!  In Maths, we’ve started learning about fractions – half and quarter.  In Art this term, we’re learning about the still life paintings of David Hockney and enjoyed creating mood boards this week.  In History, we’ve started learning about the Great Fire of London, and we compared life in London in 1666 to life in London now.

As well as all of our classroom learning, we’ve also had some exciting visitors! Yesterday, we had a cricket workshop, and we’re lucky enough to have this workshop every Thursday this term.  Today, we had some ladies from the NSPCC come in and do a workshop with us on how to ‘Speak out and stay safe’.  The children were excited to ‘meet’ Buddy the mascot!
