At PSJ, we have been spending the day remembering those people who have sacrificed so much for our country and countries around the world. Today, we have had some visitors in, children have come in their Guiding and Scouting uniforms, and we have held virtual assemblies discussing the importance of why we remember. Alongside this, children have been able to donate money for their poppies to the Royal British Legion this week and it has been great seeing so many of these poppies around the school.
We were really lucky to have Paralympian Katrina Hart visit us last week. Every child in the school got to take part in a circuit with her! Thank you to all the family members who sponsored children as we have raised an incredible amount of money to buy new sport equipment to improve our play times and PE lessons!
Here at PSJ, we believe it is imperative to recognise the importance of tackling bullying on a whole-school scale.
Therefore, we are bringing Anti-Bullying week to the forefront of our learning this week.
Throughout the week, children will be discussing this topic and looking at how we can make a difference. Please look back here next week at some of the work we are doing.
On Monday, children wore odd socks in to the school. This enabled us to discuss the importance of people being different and celebrating this. We are focusing on One Kind Word and encouraging children to say kind things and demonstrate kindness to each other.
