Squirrel Group Mill on the Brue adventure.
We woke up really early this morning as we were so excited about all the fun activities that we were going to do. After we got dressed and showered, we went down to the Long House for breakfast. We had lots of toast and cereal and it was delicious.
Our first activity was the tunnel trail. We had crawl through tubes underground and complete challenges like mining for treasure. It was a little bit scary but our leader Will helped us to feel safe. Once we finished our tunnel activity, we went had a biscuit and a juice for our snack and got to play outside on the field with the football pitch and adventure climbing frame.
After break, we met our leader and went to the crate stacking activity. We worked as a team and used our problem solving skills and lots of perseverance to build and climb towers. Our highest tower was ten crates high. It was fun to jump off and kick over our tower when we had finished building them.
Lunch today was delicious. We had Sheppard’s pie and vegetables. For pudding we ate cake and ice cream.
Zip wire was amazing. We started off feeling nervous but as soon as we took off it was really fun we could see everything. Our friends standing under us looked small as we were up really high.
Archery was really interesting some of us even got a bull's-eye. We had to aim carefully and follow instructions. Will taught us how to use the bow and arrows properly and safely.
Our last activity was the climbing wall. In climbing there were three jobs that needed doing. We had to work as a team to make sure that we were able to reach the top safely. Once we got to the top, we had to let go of the wall and lean back with our feet flat against the wall then bounce down like a frog. This was called abseiling.
We have really enjoyed our day at Mill on the Brue and are now very tired and ready for bed.
